The American Hospital Association’s Health Equity Roadmap has the 1,000-member mark in engaged participants. As a result, 20% of AHA’s membership has explored the resource. The next steps are for more member hospitals to get involved and for all hospitals to leverage the tools and resources to change policy and practice. In an interview, Joy Lewis, AHA senior vice president for health equity strategies and executive director of AHA’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, and Leon Caldwell, AHA senior director of health equity strategies, explain how organizations can use the to improve health care outcomes and drive operational efficiencies on behalf of the communities they serve.
