The American Hospital Association  the first in a video series highlighting Medicaid’s importance and explaining why proposed program cuts would jeopardize access to care for patients and communities nationwide. If the House-passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act becomes law, hospitals, particularly in rural and underserved areas, will need to make difficult decisions about whether to reduce services, staff and consider closing. The  features Ruby Kirby, RN, CEO of Bolivar General Hospital and Camden General Hospital in Tennessee, explaining why Congress should protect Medicaid. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office  nearly 11 million people could lose health insurance coverage if the bill becomes law. At least five Republican senators have expressed  with the bill’s Medicaid cuts.
