A June article in Nurse Leader how the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú for Nursing Leadership Research and Education convened nursing leaders from clinical practice, academia and industry to explore artificial intelligence’s role in nursing operations, professional education and interdisciplinary collaboration. They stressed how nurse leaders are pivotal in ensuring hospitals integrate AI ethically and effectively. Standardized AI competencies, interdisciplinary collaboration and structured readiness assessments could prepare nursing students and practicing nurses to use AI. Partnerships between nursing and industry can ensure AI solutions integrate seamlessly with nursing practice, are efficient, reduce burden and support safe patient care delivery. Following the meeting, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú released a white paper on AI for nursing leaders.
