HHS declares public health emergency in Hawaii
Last week, the Department of Health and Human Services a for Hawaii to address the health impacts of the wildfires. The declaration gives the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ health care providers and suppliers greater flexibility in meeting the emergency health needs of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Health care providers who need additional flexibilities specific to the wildfires can a request to CMS.
