HHS invests $13 million to bolster nursing education
The Department of Health and Human Services last week it was awarding $13 million to strengthen nursing education. HHS awarded over $8 million to 10 through the to support partnerships among academics, clinicians and communities to increase the number of preceptors, who in turn, can train more nurses. HHS awarded $4.75 million to 14 through the to increase the number of nursing students trained in acute care settings. The program seeks to improve health outcomes and health equity by strengthening the capacity and skill set of undergraduate students to provide high-quality culturally sensitive care in underserved communities.
