NCC opposes House Committee鈥檚 proposed NIH reforms
Every member of the Nursing Community Coalition a letter to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., opposing the committee鈥檚 recent proposal to reform the National Institutes of Health. The NCC urges Congress to retain the National Institute of Nursing Research as an independent institute within the National Institutes of Health, citing the value of nursing research and providing a plethora of examples of how nursing research has improved care. In addition, the NCC recommends Congress invest in nursing research by increasing NINR鈥檚 funding and include nurses with expertise in education, practice and research in any reform efforts.
