NCC outlines congressional priorities
During National Nurses Week, the Nursing Community Coalition its legislative priorities. All 64 members ─ including ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú─ urge congressional leadership to support at least $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in fiscal year 2026. It asks Congress to preserve the National Institute of Nursing Research as an independent institute within the National Institutes of Health and to allocate at least $210 million for NINR in FY 2026. The NCC requests the final budget reconciliation bill include the PRECEPT Nurses Act (/) and I CAN Act (/), as well as workforce safety measures, maternal health, veterans’ health, mental health and public health.
