NCC submits nursing funding requests to Senate committee

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúand 62 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition  written testimony to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. The NCC requests at least $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and at least $210 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research for fiscal year 2026. The NCC also asks that NINR remain an independent institute within NIH. In response to a  Health and Human Services Department budget proposal to eliminate the NINR, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúmember Jennifer Manning, DNS, associate dean for undergraduate nursing programs at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in New Orleans,  in a Med-Page Today editorial eliminating NINR would threaten patient care and health innovation.
