Key findings show today鈥檚 nurses more diverse, better educated
Data released from the 2018 National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses the nursing workforce diversified in race, ethnicity and gender over the past decade. The percentage of the workforce identifying as Hispanic almost tripled, from 3.6% to 10.2%, and the percentage identifying as Black increased by 2.4% to nearly 8% and males increased 2.5% to 9.6% in 2018. Today鈥檚 RNs are also better educated, with the survey showing 64% of RNs have a bachelor鈥檚 degree or higher, up from 50% in 2008. (Campaign for Action , 1/24/20)
