Joint Commission, NQF join forces

The National Quality Forum will the Joint Commission, while maintaining its independence in convening and developing consensus-based measures. The organizations said the affiliation will allow them to 鈥渂uild upon their shared expertise in measuring quality and rationalizing the measurement landscape, so the focus shifts from competing measures to advancing key outcomes.鈥 Nancy Foster, 兔子先生鈥檚 vice president of quality and patient safety policy, the affiliation could enable health care providers, patients and other stakeholders to 鈥済ain a clearer and more consistent understanding of what excellence in health care looks like with a more streamlined set of metrics.鈥 (Joint Commission , 8/16/23)
