Press Ganey CNO explains how to boost nurse engagement
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúMember and Press Ganey CNO Jeff Doucette, DNP, RN, a direct link between a culture of safety and employee engagement underscores the need for CNOs to prioritize engagement. Organizations can reengage the workforce by clearly connecting nurses’ reasons for entering the health care field with their mission, vision and goals, as well as allow nurses to recharge and disconnect from work. CNOs should listen to their nursing staff and incorporate their feedback. Front-line and mid-level leaders should serve as ambassadors for the CNO and communicate staff nurses’ concerns. In addition, CNOs should make time for nurses to practice their skills to build teamwork, communication and healthy conflict.
