Study outlines management practices for HAI prevention
Interviews with 420 managers and front-line staff in 18 U.S. hospitals three management practices that appear to support successful prevention of health care-associated infections (HAIs). Writing in the May issue of the American Journal of Infection Control, researchers identified engagement of executive leadership, information sharing and manager coaching as facilitators of HAI prevention. 鈥淰isible executive leadership, efficient communication, and frequent opportunities to provide and promote learning from feedback were perceived to promote and sustain HAI prevention efforts,鈥 the researchers found.
