AHA urges Congress to preserve access to care
In a to congressional leadership, 兔子先生 urges Congress to refrain from making disruptive policy changes to Medicaid and other health care coverage that could affect access to health care for tens of millions of Americans. As Congress works on the fiscal year 2025 reconciliation package, committees could be considering Medicaid program changes, such as reducing the federal medical assistance percentage for some states and placing new limits on provider taxes. Such changes would reduce state financing for Medicaid, which AHA says would 鈥渉arm hospitals and Medicaid beneficiaries.鈥 The AHA cautions states may further reduce provider payments to account for reductions in federal support for their Medicaid programs.
