NCC thanks ICAN bill sponsors
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúand 59 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Ohio, along with other co-sponsors, for introducing the Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) Act (/). The ICAN bill would eliminate outdated barriers in the Medicare and Medicaid programs preventing APRNs from practicing to the full extent of their education and training. Removing barriers, such as permitting nurse practitioners to certify when patients with diabetes need therapeutic shoes, will increase patients’ timely access to care. (NCC , 3/20/25)
